Rent a bike in Ticino

Worth knowing before you go

Deposit: Almost every shop asks for a deposit and an ID document at pick-up. The amount appears in the summary before you confirm the booking.

Range: In Ticino what drains the battery is climbing, not distance. With a 500 Wh battery in medium assistance, 50 to 70 km with a few hundred metres of ascent is realistic; ride in full power uphill all day and you will halve that.

Rules of the road: E-bikes up to 25 km/h count as bicycles here: no plate, helmet recommended. Faster ones (45 km/h) need a plate, insurance and a helmet by law. Some hiking trails are closed to bikes — the signs are taken seriously.

Sunny weekends empty the e-bike racks fast. Booking a few days ahead is worth it.

The rental shop pages and the booking form are in Italian. What you need is your name, a phone number, the days and a time — here is how the booking works.
